We call these our “Inspirational Photo Tours”. Spend a few hours, a day or even a weekend immersing yourself in photography and experiencing New York City like never before. These tours are geared for the beginner, advanced amateur or enthusiast looking for guidance and access to great locations. We start our day discussing PWA’s 10 Guiding Principles to help you learn the difference between “just taking a photograph” and capturing that “great shot”, with a strong emphasis on being creative. We don’t give lectures, but instead discuss while we walk and photograph. We’ll even touch on the art of composition, light, technique and style, and how to be more creative without using your program mode. In addition, we’ll discuss the technical aspects of using digital equipment and how to make the most of this amazing technology.

Our tours are designed to guide you to the most photogenic locations and aid you in mentally visualizing a scene before capturing the decisive moment. Our aim is to raise your awareness and spark your creativity so that you not only go home with images to be proud of, but use your new found skills to improve and expand your photographic technique. Our goal is that you will learn how to turn an ordinary image into an extraordinary image by using your own creativity

SATURDAY & SUNDAY PHOTO TOURS

Both our Saturday and Sunday Photo Tours begin at 10 AM at Chelsea Market. We explore several neighborhoods throughout the day which may include Chelsea, Tribeca, Chinatown, the Financial District, West Village, Brooklyn, East Village, Midtown or Central Park. We often take the subway to these neighborhoods. No two photo tours are ever alike. What better location to express your creativity than the city that never sleeps, “New York”.
